Precision Machining Capabilities

We utilize state-of-the-art CNC machinery to deliver exceptional precision and accuracy:

  • CNC Milling Up to 5-Axis: For complex geometries and intricate parts.
  • Multi-Tasking Machining Centers: Combining milling, turning, and other operations for efficient production.
  • Twin Turret/Twin Spindle Production Machining
  • CNC Turning with or without Bar Feed: Ideal for high-volume production runs of round or symmetrical parts.
  • Horizontal Milling Centers
  • Wire EDM
  • Fully Automated High Volume Production
  • Robot-Loaded Flexible Milling Cell: For high-throughput, lights-out production.
  • Automated Turning from Bar: Efficient Prototype and production runs from bar stock.
  • Surface Grinding: Precision finishing for flatness, parallelism, and other critical tolerances.
  • Assembly: We offer assembly services to complete your project requirements (for example Helicoils, PEM studs, etc.)

Inspection and Quality Capabilities

Our inspection tools are fully calibrated and controlled onsite

  • Zeiss CMM Inspection: Coordinate measuring machine for precise dimensional verification.
  • Digital Height Stands, Cadillac Gauges, Bore Gauges: As a philosophy we prefer to put gauging at the point of manufacture so that quality can be built-in rather than inspected later
  • Full Range of Inspection Equipment and Gauges: Including comparators, micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other tools for thorough quality checks.
  • Hardness Testing
  • Surface Finish Testing

Quality

One-Stop Shop for Streamlined Prototyping and Production:

In addition to our comprehensive in-house capabilities, we have well-established relationships with a wide range of Special Process vendors. From Plating to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), we have experience properly managing our vendors in order to provide one-stop shopping for our customers.

Many of our special process vendors proudly utilize:

  • Nadcap Certified Processes
  • Validated Special Processes
  • Certifications and Approvals directly from large OEMs and Primes
  • Processing to established engineering standards
  • In-house testing capabilities

Some examples of processes we manage through trusted partners:

  • Passivation
  • Chemical Conversion Coating
  • Anodize
  • Black Oxide
  • Heat Treat
  • Electroless Nickel
  • Mil-Spec Prime/Paint
  • Powder Coat
  • Selective Gold
  • TiN
  • Silver Coating
  • Weld

Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP):

At Budde Precision Machining, we utilize a robust Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process to ensure seamless project execution and consistent quality. This collaborative approach involves:

  • Early project planning: Defining project goals, requirements, and potential risks.
  • Design for Manufacture: Interface directly with your design and development engineers to provide opportunities to reduce cost and lower risk.
  • Product design review: Identifying and mitigating potential quality issues early in the design phase.
  • Process FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis): Risk-based approach to proactively identifying and addressing potential failure modes in the manufacturing process.
  • Quality Planning: Coordinating the production process with inspection requirements through methods such as toolpath mapping
  • Control plan development: Establishing clear procedures and inspection points to ensure consistent quality throughout production.
  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP): Providing comprehensive documentation to verify parts meet all specifications.
  • Gauge Repeatability and Reproducability Analysis (Gage R&R)

Process Controls:

Our stringent process controls guarantee consistent quality and adherence to your requirements:

  • First Article Inspection (FAI): Thorough inspection of the first article produced to ensure it meets all specifications before full production begins.
  • Validations: Performing Installation Qualifications (IQ), Operational Qualifications (OQ), Performance Qualifications (PQ)
  • Capability Studies: Establishing and monitoring capability indexes (e.g. Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk, etc.) especially for critical and/or key features.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC): Continuously monitoring key process parameters to identify and address any variations.
  • In-process inspections: Conducted throughout production to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
  • Final inspection: A final comprehensive inspection before parts are shipped to you.

By combining our advanced capabilities with a commitment to APQP and rigorous process controls, Budde Precision Machining delivers exceptional results you can rely on.
